Thrift Store Find of the Week! {French Canning Jars)
I love French canning jars. I love them! I decided I wanted to switch from plastic to glass when James was a baby. It seems like every day I read a new study showing that plastics contain chemicals that may be harmful to children. My thought is, why risk it? Lets just use things we know are safe, and won't leach chemicals into the food we give our kids.
I use these jars for everything, from dry storage items like flours and grain, to leftovers and condiment containers. The thing is they are super expensive. If you want to own 30 - 40 of them like I do, it really adds up.
Unless, of course, you buy them at the thrift store, which I often do. I bought all of these for a cool $8.70, which is less than even one of them would have cost new. I pick up one of two of these a month, and I have slowly been replacing all of my storage containers with them.
I like this one the best of all.

I love it when you post your finds. I live a few miles from an upscale resort town and look forward to garage sales every Saturday morning. You never know what you will come home with! Personally I think glass jars are the only way to go. They never stain or melt like plastic and keep things really really fresh, plus you can tell what is in them. Great find!
