Thrift Store Find of the Week! {Paisley Pillow}

DSC_0130

This is a little sneaky, but I really like buying stuff at the thrift store to use for other stuff. What I mean by that is sometimes I find clothes that I wouldn't necessarily want to wear, but would be great for something else. Like a pillow!

This pillow was actually made out of a silk skirt. I thought maybe the fabric was from Liberty of London, though I couldn't be sure because it didn't have a tag! Liberty's fabrics are SO incredibly expensive - $40 a yard! This silk skirt was only $2.50, and it matched the other pillows in my living room exactly. So I cut it up, added a little piping I had in my stash, and viola! New summer pillow cover. Yay!

  1. My grandpappy used to joke that he'd donate his shirts to the thrift store, they would wash them, iron them, and put them on the rack, and then he'd buy them back for a quarter. Cheers!
