Two year olds are are so awesome. Also, they are so awful. Awesome! Awful! All in one cute little package. This morning we went to the grocery store to buy a package of pectin for some jam I am making later this weekend. It happened to be the fancy expensive grocery store, the one with the Starbucks inside, and most importantly, the one with the carts that have a little car on the front. A little car with a TV inside.
Can you guess just how much James loves this grocery store? This cart?
So much.
And yet today, I took him to his favorite grocery store, and instead of being delighted, he threw the biggest temper-tantrum of all time because I made him stay IN the car cart instead of letting him hop in and out over and over and over again. Right in the middle of the grocery store, even though he was riding in the awesome cart, even though he also had chocolate milk. I was beyond frustrated. It was so bad, and he was crying so hard, another little boy came up and gave him a toy. And then he was so worn out afterwards, he fell asleep on the way home.
Two year olds.

So awesome.
Speaking of awesome, I have a little gymnast on my hands, I think. This child is so physically strong. His pedi commented that he has a rather high BMI, but it's all muscle. He can pull himself out of the pool, or onto the dining room table, and he loves jumping, flipping, climbing. He did the following accidentally, and then did it over and over again on purpose!

How can you not love that smile?
